If you happen to live in Limerick or Dublin, Ireland, then you can come to a YogaliciousME class and spend an hour or 90 minutes (in the case of YogaliciousBODY) cherishing yourself! And there really is something special about entering the studio, rolling out your mat and leaving the whole world outside the door while you dedicate some precious time to taking care of yourself - yogalicious style. But 'YogaliciousME' is not just a class - its a state of mind, body & soul! Which means that no matter where you live in the world, you can become part of the movement! And it's so simple! It's all about cherishing yourself - all day, everyday! And living with gratitude and mindfulness! And ok, with a little stretching/yoga thrown in for good measure! But nothing even the busiest working Mum can't achieve. So over the next couple of weeks I'll be sharing some simple techniques for incorporating a little 'Yogalicious-ness' into your life, wherever and whoever you are. Even small little steps can make a huge difference and today - it's all about having a Yogalicious morning'!
JUST 10 MINUTES TO WAKE UP 'YOGALICIOUS' HAPPY
And that's it! Just 10 minutes extra in the morning - in fact, maybe not even because I bet most of you hit that snooze button for 10 minutes (or more) anyway! So, why not reclaim those lost or wasted 10 minutes and turn them into the beginning of your best day ever...everyday! Jacqui xo

It’s still January! And will be for another whole week! So if you’re still feeling a touch of the January Blues then I urge you to avail of these glorious sunny mornings we’ve been so blessed with (ok today is not a good example)…and go outside! Even five minutes of natural light can do wonders for both your emotional and physical health and well-being! It’s estimated that 95% of our lives are spent indoors where levels of many pollutants are 4-5 times higher than outside. Even opening your windows for ten minutes (yes even in cold weather) can help reduce disease-causing pollutants. But better still spend some time outdoors yourself. A recent TIME Magazine article explained why, but if you missed it fear not -here’s your Yogalicious summary:
Looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday! And don't forget to tag me on those lovely photos of you being Yogalicious outdoors this week! Namaste, Jacqui xo Ah winter! What's not to love? Winter is my favourite season! Except for Spring when it's Spring, Summer in Summer... you get my drift! Every season offers us its own little box of treasures. At this time of year - brighter mornings, crisp clean air, glistening frost on tree tops, a little snowfall (maybe), an excuse to wear that hat/scarf combo you bought in the sale! More than anything its a wonderful time to take stock and prepare for the year ahead. But alas, winter is also that time of year when we're a little vulnerable to illness - especially colds and flus. I know a few of you are feeling under the weather at the moment, so I thought I'd share a few tips to get your through it - yogalicious style. I know for many the first port of call is the pharmacy for a cocktail of paracetamol, cough syrups, lozenges etc. These are ok for masking symptoms and of course you may need to do that to get through a long day. But they will not help you get better faster! Taking simple steps to boost your immune system will help you shake it off - so you won't have any symptoms to mask! How much better is that? I myself felt the inkling of a cold coming on earlier in the week and took swift action to nip it in the bud. Here's how:
Jacqui xo Ooh - there's something in the air alright...holiday stress There's only a few days to Christmas and it seems everyone's a little overwhelmed. The truth is that the pressure we put ourselves under this time of year is simply too much - and also totally unnecessary. It's Christmas. A time to share nice food, celebrate your family and friends and be kind to one another. And that's really what its only meant to be about! All the rest is just...tinsel! And apart from the effect holiday stress has on our bodies and bank balances - it also causes us to essentially miss the whole thing! Life is short - you want to be savouring every minute of all the Christmas's you have with your loved ones. Not so frantic and miserable that the entire spirit of it all eludes you! So, I urge you all to find a quiet place somewhere and take 5 deep calming breaths (I just did this on train - so no excuses) and repeat: 'Breathing in I calm my body, breathing out I smile, living in this precious moment, I know this is a magical time' - reminding yourselves that all that matters is that you are loved and everything really will be ok! So, it might not be Mary Berry prefect - but it will be good enough. Make the choice to put things in perspective and be thankful for all you already have! And you already have so much! Then get back out there and sprinkle some of your zen on all the other stressed people! :-) Repeat as needed! xo |
